If Tuesday’s joyful announcement welcoming Cassidy got you smiling, here’s even more good news to brighten your week! We are delighted to share that Rev. Barry Templeton is joining Westminster as our new Minister of Music.
Barry comes to us with a deep love for the church and a lifetime of musical ministry. After retiring from full-time ministry in 2024, he brings wisdom, warmth, and a joyful spirit shaped by years of faithful service. Most recently, Barry served in music ministry at First Baptist Church in New Bern, and previously in churches in Jacksonville and Clinton.
Barry is a graduate of Pfeiffer University (formerly Pfeiffer College), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a focus on piano, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he completed a master’s degree in Church Music. Beyond the walls of the church, Barry has been a frequent accompanist for schools and community groups throughout Craven County, generously sharing his gifts across our wider community.
As our Minister of Music, Barry will lead and direct our choir, provide musical leadership for Sunday worship and special services, and help shape a worship life that is vibrant, prayerful, and full of praise. We are excited for the experience, steadiness, and collaborative joy he brings as we sing our faith together.
Two celebrations in one week—what a gift! Please join us in extending a warm Westminster welcome to Rev. Barry Templeton when you see him, and give thanks for the many ways God is at work among us.
Welcome to Westminster, Barry! 🎶✨
