At Westminster United Methodist Church, we believe that children are a vital part of our church family. We are dedicated to creating a loving, nurturing, and fun environment where children can grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and experience God's love.

 

Sunday Morning Worship for Kids

At Westminster United Methodist Church, we offer flexible options for children during our Sunday worship services. Children are welcome to join us in whichever way is most comfortable for them and their family.

 

Nursery Care

Children are invited to visit the nursery before the service begins and remain there for the duration of the service. Our nursery is a safe and caring environment where your child can enjoy age-appropriate activities and receive the attention they need.

 

Children’s Moment in the Sanctuary

If your child would like to join the service, they are welcome to begin in the sanctuary with their family. During the service, we have a special "Children’s Moment" early in the service, where children are invited to come forward for a brief, engaging Bible story or activity.

 

Children’s Time After the Moment

After the Children’s Moment, children can choose to participate in Children’s Time with the church staff. This is a special time for them to learn more about the day’s Bible lesson through activities, stories, and discussions. Alternatively, children can remain with their parents in the sanctuary if that is their preference.

 

We want each child to feel comfortable and welcome, whether they prefer to engage in the service or enjoy the dedicated children’s programs. Our goal is to support your child’s spiritual growth in a way that fits their needs and gives them a positive worship experience.

 

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Each summer, we join forces with local churches for an exciting and memorable community Vacation Bible School (VBS) program. VBS is a week-long event where children experience an immersive Bible adventure with music, crafts, games, and Bible stories. This annual event is a highlight for many families, offering a fun way for children to grow in their faith while making new friends. 

 

Summer Voyages Day Camp
Camp Don Lee is partnering with Westminster United Methodist Church to provide a day camp where children in the community can experience Christian camping to learn and grow. Organized activities will include games, crafts, story time, archery, and bible study. Children will be placed into small groups and be well supervised. We will use Darkness to Light and Safe Sanctuary guidelines to ensure your child’s safety. Camp Don Lee, Arapahoe, NC, is accredited by the American Camp Association. Family Events and Activities

We believe that faith is a journey that is best shared with family. Our church offers a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, including holiday celebrations, family nights, and service opportunities. These events provide opportunities for families to come together, strengthen their bonds, and grow in faith as a community.

 

Safety and Care

The safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. All of our children’s ministry staff undergo background checks and are trained to provide a safe, welcoming environment for your child. We aim to ensure that your child’s experience at church is a positive one where they feel loved, cared for, and valued.
