Dallas Willard was a theologian, philosopher, teacher, and practitioner of the Christian faith. His work transformed the lives of secular and Christian students in universities, churches, and the world. Dallas once said, "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life." Our over-busy lives keep us from connecting with the presence of God right in front of us.
On Wednesday nights during Lent, we dive deeper into the spiritual practices of that help us SLOW, exploring four practices:
Silence and Solitude
Sabbath
Simplicity
Slowing
We'll use John Mark Comer's "How to Un-hurry," the companion guide to his best-seller The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World. The companion guide is available as a FREE Download (print copies available from the Church Office by request). The book is available from Amazon, Cokesbury, or your favorite retailer (limited copies are available in the Church Office for $18). The book is encouraged; however, it is optional for our Wednesday night practice.
