This past Christmas season, the Ladies Ministry at Westminster United Methodist Church found a meaningful way to spread joy by adopting a fourth-grade classroom at Banks Elementary School, led by one of our own, Hollie Ayers.
Through generous donations from our church family, the Ladies Ministry was able to provide each student with a personalized Christmas stocking filled with a variety of fun and useful items. Each gift was thoughtfully prepared, creating a moment of excitement and care for every child.
This outreach was more than simply giving gifts, it was a way to share the spirit of Christmas with students who needed it most, while also investing in our community and encouraging our future leaders. It reflects our church’s heart for serving beyond our walls and building meaningful connections right here in Kinston.
In return, the students created a beautiful and heartfelt thank you gift for our church. They designed a framed piece of artwork, now displayed just outside the sanctuary, featuring a heart from each student with their initials inside. This collective artwork stands as a powerful symbol of gratitude, connection, and love.
We are thankful to display this special piece, which serves as a daily reminder of the impact of generosity and the joy that comes from caring for others. The Ladies Ministry continues to live out our faith through compassion and giving, and we are grateful for the difference they are making in our community.
