Christmas Food Offering: Supporting Backpack Buddies of Lenoir County

This Christmas, we have the opportunity to shine Christ’s light in a very tangible way. Westminster and Queen Street United Methodist Churches are joining together this season to support Backpack Buddies of Lenoir County, a local ministry feeding children who face weekend hunger in our community.

Why This Matters

Every week during the school year, Backpack Buddies prepares weekend meal bags for students who might otherwise go without. This year, the ministry is serving:

  • 485 children

  • In seven local schools

  • At a cost of more than $2,000 every week

  • Over $81,000 across a 36-week school year

Your generosity helps ensure that children return to school on Monday with full stomachs, renewed energy, and the confidence that their community cares.
