This Christmas, we have the opportunity to shine Christ’s light in a very tangible way. Westminster and Queen Street United Methodist Churches are joining together this season to support Backpack Buddies of Lenoir County, a local ministry feeding children who face weekend hunger in our community.

Why This Matters
Every week during the school year, Backpack Buddies prepares weekend meal bags for students who might otherwise go without. This year, the ministry is serving:
485 children
In seven local schools
At a cost of more than $2,000 every week
Over $81,000 across a 36-week school year
Your generosity helps ensure that children return to school on Monday with full stomachs, renewed energy, and the confidence that their community cares.
How You Can Give
We invite you to support this year’s Christmas Food Offering in one of two ways:
1. Make a Monetary Gift
Give through your local church and designate your gift “Christmas Food Offering.”All designated gifts received through December 31 will be given directly to Backpack Buddies of Lenoir County.
2. Bring In-Kind Food Donations
Backpack Buddies follows a specific weekly menu.If you prefer to give food items, please donate only:
Pop-Tarts
Peanut butter nabs
Fruit cups
Applesauce pouches
You may drop items off at the church anytime during Advent.
A Simple Gift, A Lasting Impact
Thank you for helping feed our neighbors’ children and for sharing the love and hope of Christ this Christmas. Your generosity shines brighter than you know.
